About Me

Hello, my name is Steph. I’ve been writing and publishing since 1988 and I’ve been in the games industry since 1996. I wrote a little bit more on the About Me page. This is my sometimes-updated website. Enjoy.

One suggestion from an astue first reader has caused me to bang my head into the keyboard (figuratively) for the past 24 hours. It’s one of those changes that is a damn good one but would require so much reworking it makes my head spin. In fact, I’m not sure I can do it — because the resulting book would be a different book

So the question becomes: Would it then be a better book? It would definitely open up new avenues and it would condense some things, but the amount of work it would take would effectively make it a very different novel.

Argh.

This is a point of consistency between the two books that I probably need to be aware of and work on: I tend to write too many characters. Inevitably, there’re one or two who could be combined without much loss. Except in the fact that I’d have to sit and pick apart whole segments of the book to sew it back together. BLARGH.
